Meet Dr. Hem – Northstar’s Newest Smile Champion!

We’re thrilled to welcome a new face to the Northstar Dental family—please join us in saying hello to Dr. Hem!

Dr. Hem brings not only clinical expertise, but a truly inspiring story that shaped her path into dentistry. Raised in a small town with limited access to dental care, she experienced firsthand what it’s like to be overwhelmed at the dentist’s office. But instead of letting that first appointment discourage her, it changed her life. The care and education she received sparked her desire to one day help others feel the same sense of comfort and empowerment in the dental chair.

After earning both her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University, Dr. Hem has made it her mission to deliver compassionate, patient-first care. She’s known for her gentle approach, dedication to patient education, and ability to make every visit feel calm, personal, and positive.

When she’s not helping patients maintain healthy smiles, Dr. Hem enjoys spending time with her boyfriend—whether they’re locked in a competitive tennis match or enjoying some downtime with video games. She’s also the proud pet parent of two adorable cats, Courtney and Callie.
